In 2022 Melbourne Museum acquired one of the world’s best Triceratops fossil specimens and opened a new exhibition space. Sandpit designed an interactive space as visitors leave the fossil display, transitioning perspective as dinosaurs evolve into modern birds. I helped design and direct the animation of the birds in this space, in consultancy with Ornithologists at the museum. The room involved two elements. One was the Party In The Sky which showed the variety of flight behaviours and calls of different birds around the world. In addition there were three Bird Nooks where you could hear and attempt bird calls of specific Australian bird species.

Huge thanks to contributing animators Lisa Vertudaches, Milo Gluth, Dom Aldis, Amy Charlick and Andrew Onorato.
